Do you know what is screen gain oman? Is the bigger the gain of the screen better?

by ZhouQiaoli 16 May 2022 0 Comments
The quality of a screen usually has two core indicators, one is the contrast ratio and the other is the brightness of the screen image. Brightness will in turn affect the presentation of colors, and the brightness of the screen is also known as "gain"

So what is gain?

Gain is the ability of the screen to reflect incident light. The gain number represents the ratio of the brightness reflected from the screen to the brightness reflected from the matte white wall under the condition that the incident angle and incident light remain unchanged. The largest ratio becomes the gain.

Gain can be used to describe the ability of the screen to reflect light. The brightness gain reflected by a matte white wall is 1, the gain < 1 becomes a negative gain, and the gain > 1 becomes a high gain; the higher the gain, the greater the brightness of the reflected light,

Under the same conditions, the same light is projected on screens with different gains, the higher the gain, the brighter the screen, and the lower the screen gain, the lower the overall brightness of the screen

Is the higher the curtain gain the better?

For projectors with lower brightness, the use of a high gain screen is just complementary. The lower brightness light projected on the high gain screen will enhance the brightness of the reflected light to the human eye.

However, high-gain screens also have their drawbacks. The higher the gain, the brighter the screen will be. When the brightness is higher, the contrast will be smaller. Therefore, when you use a high-gain screen, the brightness of the screen will increase to the brightness in the middle, which is the width of the sitting vision, making the viewing brightness on the sides of the screen a little different, and the increase in brightness reduces the contrast. The color of the projection screen cannot show the most real color, but it is too stiff and distorted, and the color shift will also occur with the movement of the position.

In general, generally speaking, the higher the gain of the screen, the better. You can match the lumen of the projector and the gain of the screen to complement each other, and the most suitable projection picture will be presented.
